The Grace Project is a Christian charity established by members of The Salvation Army in Castleford to provide a high standard of education to the under privileged area of Ho in the Volta Region of Ghana.
The Grace Project began in the minds of a husband and wife during an educational research working visit to Ghana in 2004, where they noticed a great educational and economic need in the area. In particular there was a clear need for a new primary school.
With the generous support of countless individuals and organisations, the charity was able to build a brand new primary school for 250 children, which officially opened in October 2008.
The charity is now working to enhance the level of education in the school together with the facilities and resources available to the children and the local community.
